Restoration of the Torcello Basilica

Conservative restoration of the internal and external western elevations of the main nave of the Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta di Torcello – Year 2018-2019 Consolidation of the external masonry by injection of hydraulic lime-based products, insertion of retaining pins of the wall facing, local scuci and sew the most degraded bricks and dripping of the bedding joints. Interventions were also carried out aimed at the conservation of the stone elements with cleaning and protection treatments. Inside, the restoration involved the entire counter-façade and the grandiose mosaic of the Last Judgment: the works carried out are those of cleaning and consolidating the mosaic, through the cohesion of the various layers of the facing.
